the hills

In around 2007 I recorded an interview off the radio of Kim Hill interviewing Michael Hill for a dance project, creating a sound work I titled The Hills.

Inspired by the remix tapes of composers such as The Books and Kid Koala I worked with designer Jeffrey Holdaway to remix Michael and Kim Hills’ radio interview, with a tendency to repeat any phrasing or remark that I found humorous/ cringe-worthy, focusing on mangling the idiosyncracies of the New Zealand accent in phrases of rhythm and response.
